Un día, ella encuentra a Luna, una gata negra con una luna creciente en la frente. Usagi entonces se transforma en Sailor Moon, la Guerrera Mágica en una ropa de marinero: la Guardián del Amor y de la Justicia! Y como guardián escogida, Usagi y las otras guardianes se embarcan en la misión de encontrar el legendario cristal de plata enviado por la Reina Beryl del Reino de la Oscuridad.
